As outlined in the Children's Plan parental alcohol misuse will be tackled through three initiatives:
- Family Pathfinders, which brings together children's and adult services to ensure that families with complex needs receive a whole family package of support
- Family Intervention Projects, and
- Parenting Practitioners.
The effectiveness of these initiatives for reaching and supporting alcohol misusing parents will be reviewed, and the Academy will work with the Government and other key stakeholders to further develop its approach where considered necessary.
