Conference series: Consequences for Children Affected by Maternal Drug & Alcohol Usage: A Multi-Disciplinary Approach

Parents for Children is organising a series of four one-day conferences on the effects of maternal substance misuse on children.

Commencing on 8 September 2008, the series comprises the following events:

Working with families & substance misuse
17 – 21 November 2008, Warminster

Families Plus is offering this course for practitioners working with substance abusers and their families. The five-day workshop aims to enhance participants' understanding of the dynamics of such families and aid development of the skills and techniques required to help and support them.

Protecting Young People, Families and Communities. Evidence based response to the new Drugs Strategy.

The Centre for Evidence and Research at Liverpool John Moores University is hosting a conference entitled "Protecting Young People, Families and Communities. Evidence based response to the new Drugs Strategy." on 21 November 2008.

This conference will focus on Drug Strategy priorities and provide the latest evidence based practice and policy responses. It will also serve as a platform for policy makers, practitioners and academics to discuss and share knowledge, views and experiences with their counterparts.
