Addaction
Addaction is a specialist drug and alcohol treatment charity providing a range of support services to those affected by drug and alcohol misuse across England and Scotland. It offers specialist services for young people and families, and produces a range of information and publications.

Adfam
Adfam is the leading national organisation working with and for families affected by drugs and alcohol. They provide direct support to families through publications, training, prison visitors' centres, outreach work and signposting to local support services. Adfam offers consultation and has produced several guides for professionals and commissioners. Their latest programme Family Changes provides informal advice and support to grandparents looking after their grandchildren due to parental substance misuse. 

Alcohol Concern
Alcohol Concern is the national agency on alcohol misuse. It works to reduce the incidence and costs of alcohol-related harm and increase the range and quality of services available to people with alcohol-related problems. It has set up a dedicated website to support professionals working with families to understand the issues involved in parental alcohol misuse.

DrugScope
DrugScope is the UK's leading independent centre of information and expertise on drugs. It provides quality drug information, promotes effective responses to drug use, undertakes research, advises on policy-making and good practice, encourages informed debate and speaks for its members working in drug treatment, education and prevention and other areas. Features for practitioners working with drug-using parents include a forum and an e-newsletter.

M-PACT - Moving Parents and Children Together
Families Plus has developed two pilot M-PACT programmes aimed at supporting parents and young people who are experiencing the effects of parental substance misuse within the family. An evaluation report by the University of Bath indicates that participating families found the programme very beneficial, and there are plans to extend the programme nationally. National Association for Children of Alcoholics
The National Association for Children of Alcoholics is a charity addressing the needs of children who grow up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism or a similar addictive problem. Information, advice and support for these children is provided through a free confidential helpline.

Parents Using Drugs

Turning Point
Turning Point is a social care organisation that provides services directly to people with multiple issues which other organisations can find difficult to support. These include substance misuse, mental health, learning disability and young people.
