The aim of the Academy's research plan is to gather and evaluate the best quality evidence, use it to refine programmes, training and service organisation, then communicate the lessons to practitioners.
The research will generate evidence for what parenting styles practitioners should teach to meet children's needs, which programmes are effective and how services should be delivered.
We will then use this evidence to refine and improve the skills of parenting practitioners and the quality of the programmes they use.
Our ambition is that all children get the help they need to improve their lives, by giving their mothers and fathers – and anyone else in a parenting role – support that is known to work. Our research will ensure that practitioners use interventions that have been proven to be effective and that service organisers commission the best programmes and training.
