Evidence based programme training application - second stage

Following the announcement of the first round of training providers, we have invited applications from local areas who have submitted their local overview form for the first two phases of Academy training in evidence based programmes in December 2008 and January – March 2009.

Phase 1 December 2008 offer
Between 1 – 12 December 2008, we will be offering a limited offer of training in three programmes – Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities, Strengthening Families 10 – 14 and Triple P. There are still a few places available on these courses.

Phase 2 January - March 2009 offer
Training in this phase will be offered in the following programmes:

  • FAST
  • Incredible Years
  • Mellow Parenting
  • Parenting Positively
  • Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities
  • Strengthening Families 10 - 14 (UK) 
  • Triple P

To apply for training places the Academy requires a completed service manager application form for each specific service, approved by the relevant Parenting Commissioner, which details the individual practitioners who are being proposed for training. At the same time we also need a completed personal applicant details form for each individual named.

Voluntary sector organisations which have plans to deliver evidence based parenting groups but are not linked to a local service or a local plan, and would like to discuss direct access to Academy training, should complete the voluntary sector training form.


Deadline for application

Phase 2: 
Application deadline: 14 November 2008. Later applications are still being considered. The Academy will confirm successful applications for January places by 28 November 2008. February places will be confirmed by 12 December 2008 and March places by 9 January 2009.

The Academy cannot accept direct applications from individual practitioners. All applications must be co-ordinated and approved by parenting commissioners in discussion with relevant local services and Academy regional staff. Individual practitioners should contact their local parenting commissioner through their service managers.
